The Rockaway Beach Surf Club is the convergence of surf and urban culture in NYC. Located in the heart of Rockaway Beach, it serves as an event space for artists and musicians, as well as the local
community. I was commissioned to create a sign post inspired by the iconic beach destination signs seen around the world. Made of painted reclaimed wood and drift wood, the sculpture became a photo hub for social media in the surf club's outdoor patio. Subsequently I was commissioned to create a hand painted work of vintage surf brand logos that hangs in the main room of the surf club. Made from 21 painted canvases and framed in wood salvaged from the boardwalk after Hurricane Sandy, this work has since been signed by some of the original shapers who have traveled to visit this famous NYC surf destination. My ongoing work for the Rockaway Beach Surf Club has included graphic design work for club merchandise and their apparel branch.
